Gods, Goddesses and Gorgons

This month we investigated Roman gods and goddess. We started by looking at pictures of the gods and guessing who was who. After the introduction we split into two groups with two activities to do.

One group made a gorgon’s head amulet out of clay, just like the one Minerva wore on her armour, while the other group designed their own deity for their favourite thing.

We had been told that the Romans had gods for just about everything and there were some really good ideas.

We had gods of Chocolate, Bananas, Bacteria, Colour and Games to name just a few! Then we used our new knowledge of the Romans to complete a quiz on the gods, matching the names to a description of each deity.
